about silver tongue theatresilver tongue theatre is a new writing theatre company that explores emotionally and socially fraught subjects with a distinctive visual flair. we belwe believe in putting the poetry back into those black, sweaty boxes. We aim to square the circle between devised and written, visual and verbal theatres. silver tongue theatre is Daniel Bye and Oliver Emanuel DANIEL BYE is a director and writer based in York, North Yorkshire. His most recent show was full of noises, which he wrote and directed for the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Other non-Silver Tongue work includes can of worms for the clown and physical comedy company Strange Bedfellows. He trained with Philippe Gaulier and works extensively with circus and street artists. He is chair of Script Yorkshire. OLIVER EMANUEL is a writer based in Glasgow, Scotland. Non-Silver Tongue work for the stage includes magpie park for the West Yorkshire Playhouse and flit for the National Theatre of Scotland, part of their transform season. Radio includes by the light of the moon (BBC Radio 7) and Joseph and Jospeh (BBC Radio 4). He studied Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. He is currently running INK, a monthly writers’ night alternating between the Traverse in Edinburgh and the Tron in Glasgow. |
